Sacrament of Penance III is a temporary public art installation and participatory performance that transforms a historical telephone booth into a temporary confessional. Participants are invited to enter the booth and confess their sins over the phone to ex-convicts acting as special priests. We believe that individuals who have faced adversity in their lives can be great teachers capable of bringing perspectives that can move the public— with tremendous insight and wisdom to guilt, remorse, and forgiveness.
