An Artist's Fortune (2021)
Performance
A performance work spontaneously made in Ahmet Öğüt’s seminar class in the summer of 2021. A box of fortune cookies were shared with the class, and students each chose one cookie from the box in random order. Ahmet waited until the end and took one of the last remaining cookies.
His fortune cookie had the following message:
which translates as: “Please open another fortune cookie. The fortune, that you should find here, is not available.” Ahmet then picked the last remaining fortune cookie. His second fortune cookie had the following message: [blank]
