An Artist’s Fortune (2021)

An Artist’s Fortune is a performance work spontaneously made in Ahmet Öğüt’s seminar class in the summer of 2021. Seven fortune cookies were randomly distributed to the class. Ahmet, the professor, took one fortune cookie. His fortune cookie had the following message: 

“Bitte offnen Sie einen anderen Glückskeks, das Schiksal, das Sie hier vorfinden sollten, ist nicht vorrätig” which translates into:

“Please open another fortune cookie. The fortune, that you should find here, is not available.” 

Ahmet then picked the last remaining fortune cookie. His second fortune cookie had the following message:
